第一季第二集，觀劇筆記。

我是對這劇本，一點一點整理出來的。參考資料主要是兩本詞典：柯林斯英英，21世紀英漢大詞典。

看得人多的話，再持續更新。目前我自己整理到第10集。

這部劇反覆看都看不厭。彩蛋太多了~

【nominating convention】

【Nessun Dorma】
《今夜無人入睡》（義大利文：Nessun dorma）是普契尼最後一部歌劇《圖蘭多》的詠嘆調，由男角卡拉夫王子（Calaf）演唱，訴說圖蘭多公主要全城徹夜不睡，在天亮前替她尋找王子的名字，若無法如期查出，則全城百姓都必須受死。歌曲的原意為「不讓人入睡」，中譯為「今夜無人入睡」或「公主徹夜未眠」。這首古典歌劇作品是著名男高音帕華洛帝（Luciano Pavarotti）的經典金曲，1990年被英國廣播公司（BBC）用作當年義大利世界盃足球賽的主題曲後，令它的知名度更廣為人知。

【Ryder Cup team】
The Ryder Cup is a biennial golf competition between teams from Europe and the United States. The competition is jointly administered by the PGA of America and the PGA European Tour, and is contested every two years, the venue alternating between courses in the United States and Europe. The Ryder Cup is also the name of the trophy, after the person who donated it, Samuel Ryder. The Ryder Cup, and its counterpart the Presidents Cup, are unique in the world of golf, and possibly professional sports, since despite being high-profile events that bring in tens of millions of dollars in TV and sponsorship revenue the players receive no prize money and compete purely for the victory.

【fly in the teeth with it】to challenge someone or something; to go against someone or something.

【You're at your best with a pie in the face.】
Pieing is the act of throwing a pie at a person or persons. This can be a political action when the target is an authority figure, politician, or celebrity and can be used as a means of protesting against the target's political beliefs, or against perceived arrogance or vanity. Perpetrators generally regard the act as a form of ridicule to embarrass and humiliate the victim. In some U.S. states pieing may conform to definitions of the crime of battery, but not assault. (Battery is the crime of hitting or beating someone.)
