「我雖在江湖，但江湖沒有我的傳說。」

最喜歡這部電影的結尾：曾經視美食為生命的科伯先生，因為對老鼠做的東西做了一次公平的評價，他的信譽和名聲掃地，再也做不了美食評論家。

我記得他之前的家和他的穿著。暗色西裝筆挺，襯衫領口塞著小圍巾，長長的走廊兩邊掛著猩紅的窗簾，他坐在大廳的盡頭咔嗒咔嗒地打著寫字機。那姿態，頗有點指點江山的感覺。他喜歡提起自己小食指，指著對面的人說話，他很高，因為經常要俯視別人，所以有點駝背。就是他，喝著紅酒寫美食影評，用似褒實貶的語氣批評廚神餐廳是義大利快餐食品的典範。

很慶幸這個人的高貴不是偽裝的，他敢於面對自己錯誤的判斷。當他認識到感動自己的飯菜是一個老鼠做的，在一夜長坐之後，寫下了這樣的美食評論：

"In many ways the work of a critic is easy. We risk very little, yet enjoy a position over those who offer up their work and their selves to our judgment. We thrive on negative criticism, which is fun to write and to read. But, the bitter truth we critics must face is that, in the grand scheme of things ... the average piece of junk is probably more meaningful than our criticism designating it so.

  

"But there are times when a critic truly risks something, and that is in the discovery and defense of the new. The world is often unkind to new talent, new creations. The new needs friends."



價值觀顛倒是造成人無力向善的根源。向善的科伯先生寫完這篇評論以後就再也不是美食評論家了。他戴著瓜皮小帽，圍著普通老年人才會圍的灰白圍巾，成為了一個小企業家，卻能享受天下獨一的美食。

小老鼠的烹調成為一個秘密，「我雖在江湖，但江湖卻沒有我的傳說」。它熱心於無名的烹飪，綻露自己的天才，也許要在有一天它死後才能被發現：原來那麼多人稱讚的食物出自無名鼠輩之手。


最後提一提這裡面的特色英文學習：

He is the youngest chef to achieve a five star rating.（最年輕得到五星級的評價的廚師）
 
Chef Gusteau's book "Anyone can cook" climbs to the top of the best seller's list（熱賣書榜首）..but not everyone has rendered（給與) its success (0:32) 但不是每一個人都給與優等的評價。
 
以上這一段話有法國口音，但是我覺得講得還蠻有味道。。
 
鏡頭轉向著名飲食大師 Anton Ego:
Amusing title（很有意識）.."Anyone can cook" ..What's even more amusing is that...is that Gusteau seemed to believe it. I on the other hand..take cooking seriously..I don't think anyone can do it. (0:45)
... （注意Anton 說話的語氣。。一副很正經的樣子，語氣傲慢。。注意他停頓的地方。。聲音的起伏。。一般上流社會也愛用這種口音。。大家可以參考參考）
 
小老鼠講故事開始。。
 
Remy:
 
This is me..I think it is apparent（很明顯的） that I rethink my life for a moment （我需要回想我的人生）
 
What is my problem?
 
first of all, I'm a rat（我是隻老鼠）..which means life is hard..second,I have a highly developed（非常強的，一般指不尋常的） taste and smell
 
flour, eggs, sugar, vanilla bean(? 不能確認最後一個字)..oh a small twist of lemon (Twist 代表擠一點檸檬..以後在酒吧里可以這麼點。。Coke with a twist of lemon-可樂加檸檬)
 
Remy's brother:
 
You can smell all that（你什麼都聞得出啊）? You have a gift!（字面使你擁有個禮物。。意識是你又一種別人沒有或不及的能力）
 
Remy:
 
This is Emil, my brother..he is easily impressed. （它很容易就感到滿意）
 
 
Remy's father：
 
So he can smell ingredients, so what?
看來他有嗅出痛惜成份的能力， 那又怎麼樣？
 
Remy:
 
This is my dad,he's never impressed.. he also happened to be the leader of the clang（Remy的爸爸也是他們族群的領袖）..
 
Remy says to his dad:
 
So what is wrong with having highly developed senses?
有超人感應能力，那也錯了嗎？
 
Whoa whoa whoa...dont eat that
等等。。那東西不能吃 （還記得我上課教過的嗎？）
 
Remy's father:

Remy:
 
Turns out that funny smell was rat poison.
原來那怪怪的味道是「毒藥」
 
Suddenly, dad doesn't think my talent was useless. (2:23)
突然之間，爸爸不在將我的天賦看成是沒有用的東西了
 
I was feeling pretty good about my gift... until dad gave me a job.
正當我對我的能力感到滿意。。我爸爸給了我一份活幹

感覺還不錯吧？你幫了我們一個大忙。(Noble cause高尚的舉動）
 
Remy:
 
Noble? What..but we are thieves, dad...and what we're stealing is ..let's face it.."Garbage"!
高尚？ 但我們都是小偷 爸爸。。還有我們偷的都是。。現實一點說。。都是「垃圾」
 
Remy's father:
It isn't stealing if no one wants it..
沒人要的東西不叫偷。。（電影裡常常喜歡隱藏大道理）
 
Remy:

Let's just say..we have different points of view..this much I know..
這麼說吧。。我們在意見上觀點不一致。。這一點我是很肯定的
 
If "you are what you eat" thenI only want to eat the good stuff
如果說 「你吃什麼就代表你是什麼樣的人」那麼我只要吃好東西。
 
but to my dad:
 
Food is fuel, get picky with what you put in the tank, your engine is gonna die. Now shut up and eat your garbage.
食物就是汽油， 如果你對膠乳你又想的又太挑剔的話，你的引擎將會死去。現在給我住嘴。。吃你的垃圾吧。
 
Remy:
If we're gonna be thieves, why don't we steal the "good stuff" from the kitchen, where there s no poison.
如果我們是小偷，要不我們去廚房偷一些「好吃的東西」。。那裡的東西沒有毒
 
Remy's father:
First of all, we are not thieves! Secondly stay out of the kitchen and away from the humans..it's dangerous.
首先，我們不是小偷！第二遠離廚房和人類。。他們很危險。
 
Remy:
I know I m suppose to hate humans but there's something about them.. they don t just survive..they discover...they create..they just..look at the way they do with the food..
我知道我是應該憎恨人類但是他們有體重說不出的。。他們不單單為活著而活著。。他們會發現。。會創造。。就拿他們對待飲食來說吧。。。
 
TV Gusteau:
How could I describe it? Good food is like music..you can taste,color, you can smell...There s excellence all around you...You only need to stop to consider it(?) (4:03)
我怎麼來形容呢？好吃的食品就相音樂。。你可以嘗到味道。。顏色。。你可以聞到。。實在太美妙了。。你只要定下心來感受它。
